The Academy Award-winning producer Jon Landau, who funded successful films including “Avatar” and “Titanic,” has passed away. He was sixty-three.

The Oscar-winning producer Jon Landau, who co-produced blockbusters like Avatar and Titanic, has passed away. He was sixty-three. In a statement to the media on Saturday, his family announced his passing. The cause of death was kept private.

Landau was a longtime friend and collaborator of director James Cameron, who co-directed two of the biggest blockbusters in contemporary cinema history, Titanic and Avatar.

“For thirty-one years, he was my closest partner and a great friend. Something inside of me has been ripped out. For nearly twenty years, his wild sense of humor, intense charisma, immense selflessness, and unwavering determination have made him the focal point of our Avatar universe. The Associated Press cited Cameron as adding, “His legacy is not just the films he produced, but the personal example he set—indomitable, caring, inclusive, tireless, insightful, and utterly unique.”

The producer’s passing was regretted by Avatar actress Zoe Saldana, who posted on social media, saying, “So many of us will always be grateful for the knowledge and support you provided. We will continue to draw inspiration and direction from your legacy as we travel.

Jamie and Jodie, Jon Landau’s sons, and his wife Julie survive him.
