Official sales of the limited-edition Vespa 946 Dragon edition, which retails for Rs. 14.27 lakhs (ex-showroom), have taken place in India. This limited-edition scooter, which honors Hong Kong’s Lunar New Year, is extremely rare—only 1888 will be sold worldwide.

The 946 Dragon’s distinctive paint job and decals make it visually distinct from the regular 946. The scooter’s bodywork, mirrors, tail rack, and wheels are all painted a unique shade of light gold. Emerald green dragon designs that extend from the front apron to the side panels contrast with this light gold color, giving the design a visually arresting touch.

The Vespa 946 Dragon has a steel plate monocoque frame and a 155cc engine. A preload-adjustable shock absorber at the back and a single-arm shock absorber at the front provide support for it. With its front and rear 220mm disc brakes, the scooter’s 12-inch wheels provide dependable stopping power.

In India, Motoplex retailers are now accepting reservations for the 946 Dragon, giving collectors and enthusiasts the opportunity to own this exclusive scooter.

What are your thoughts on this Vespa special edition? Would you purchase such limited editions if you have about Rs. 15 lakhs to spare?

Mr. Diego Graffi, Chairman and MD of Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited, commented on the introduction of the new Dragon Edition in India, saying, “Vespa has always been more than just a mobility brand where it stands for freedom of expression and celebration of art and culture.” We are thrilled to introduce our collector’s edition Vespa 946 to India for clients who value unique collectibles, in keeping with this same ethos.”

A true collector’s edition is the recently launched Vespa 946 Dragon Edition. The scooter is the most expensive of its kind available in the Indian market due to its astronomically high price. Although the scooter’s manufacturer has not yet stated whether or not it will be offered in limited quantities in Indiana, we believe it will.
