A recruitment notice for 450 positions of commissioning medical officers in the short service has been released by the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). Educational Qualification:
The applicant must have medical qualifications listed in the National Medical Council Act, 2019, along with permanent registration from any State Medical Council, NMC, or MCI. Holders of postgraduate degrees recognized by the State Medical Council, NBE, or NMC are also eligible to apply.
Age Limit:
Candidates must be under 30 years of age if they hold an MBBS degree (i.e., born on or after January 2, 1995) or under 35 years of age if they hold a postgraduate degree (i.e., born on or after January 2, 1990).
Salary Details:
Doctors commissioned into the Armed Forces Medical Services will receive the rank of Captain (or the equivalent rank in the Navy/Air Force) and will be placed at the 10B level of the Defence Pay Matrix. Their compensation will include:
- Basic Pay: Rs.61,300/-
- Military Service Pay (MSP): Rs.15,500/-
- House Rent Allowance (HRA), if applicable, based on the city category (X, Y, or Z) where the officer is posted
- Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) at prevailing rates
- Transport Allowance: Rs.3,600 – 7,200/-, depending on the city category (X, Y, or Z)
- Dress Allowance: Rs.20,000/- annually
- Dearness Allowance as per prevailing rate

Applications will be accepted online only. To do so the candidate needs to click on the “New Registration” button and follow the steps on the website www.amcsscentry.gov.in.
Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be based on Interviews.
Application Fee:
A processing fee of Rs.200/- will be charged to applicants. This amount must be paid online at the end of the application submission via internet banking, credit card, or debit card. No other payment methods will be accepted.
